Ethel Taylor Gooch, 91, of Gainesville, died Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Rev. Charles Taylor and Canzada Roberts Taylor. She worked at Gayborn Mills for many years, as well as Northeast Georgia Hospital, Roses 5 & 10 Store, and Gilford Mills. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Maynard Gooch; a brother, the Rev. Bunyan Taylor; and sisters, Desma Gooch and Bertie Bryant.
Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Sara Gooch, Bobbie and A.W. Stover, all of Gainesville, Joan and Richard Braham, Irmo, S.C.; granddaughters and spouse, Lisa D. Stover, Roswell, Lori and Johnny Parker, Gainesville; grandsons and spouses, James E. Adams, Jr., Cumming, Jordan Paul Adams, Bryan and Meredith Braham, all of Gainesville, Brent and Ann Marie Braham, Snellville; great-granddaughter, Taylor Parker; great-grandson, Lex Parker; brothers, W.W. Gary Jr., Commerce, Robert Gary, Atlanta; sisters, Lillie Bruce, Homer, Mary Tuggle and Martha Caudell, both of Commerce; special caregivers, Sandra Clayton and Shelia Dickerson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 8, at Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church with the Revs. Fulton Boswell, James E. Adams Jr. and Johnny P. Parker officiating. Burial was in the White Plains Baptist Church cemetery.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
