WINDER – Tommy Brown, 67, died Monday, April 12, 2010.
Born in Winder, he was the son of the late Wilbert Parks and Doris LeCount Brown. He had been employed by McDaniel Grading, was a member of the American Legion Post 53. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy in Vietnam, where he received a Purple Heart. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by brothers, Harry and Frankie Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Brown, Winder; sons and daughters-in-law, Chad and Tabitha Brown and David and Amanda Brown, all of Winder; daughters and son-in-law, Jennifer Brown and Jullie Brown Sailors and Ryan Sailors, all of Winder; six grandchildren; brothers, Travis, Steve, Scott and Bruce Bray, all of Watkinsville; sisters, Jean Brown Hall and Pam Bray Gill, both of Winder, Jackie Bray Cantrell, Conyers, and Donna Bray Dixon, Bogart.
Funeral services will be held Friday, April 16, at 2 p.m. from Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. John Briscoe officiating. Burial will be in Oconee Hills Cemetery in Athens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, April 15, from 5 to 9 p.m.
