PENDERGRASS – Vernon Swancey, 79, died Saturday, April 10, 2010.
A native of Hoschton, he was the son of the late G.S. Swancey Sr. and Jame Viola Boggs Swancey. A farmer, he was a member of Walnut Fork Baptist Church in Hoschton.
Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Thelma Maddox Swancey, Pendergrass; sisters and brother-in-law, Betty Swancey and Hoyt Skelton, Gainesville, Martha Swancey Crowe, Winder; one aunt; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 13, at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Carter Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Jarrard officiating. Burial will be in the Walnut Fork Baptist Church Cemetery in Hoschton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, April 12, from 5 to 8 p.m.
Carter Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
