George Sammons

WINDER – George H. Sammons, 76, died Monday, March 29, 2010.

He was born on January 17, 1934, in Williamsburg, Ky. and was retired from the City of Winder in Winder. He was of the Baptist denomination.

Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Clara Dalton Sammons, Winder; sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Carol Sammons and Larry and Joyce Sammons, all of Auburn; grandchildren, Alicia Holt, Crystal Sammons, Steven Sammons and Trevor Sammons; great-grandson, Landon Holt; sisters, Beulah Mae Hamilton, Toledo, Ohio, and Eulavee McCoy, Williamsburg, Ky.; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 1, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home with the Revs. Buster Green and Larry Youngblood officiating. Burial will be at Barrow Memorial Gardens in Winder. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, March 30, from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 12 noon until 9 p.m.

Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, is in charge of arrangements.
