COLBERT – C. Lane “Pops” Teet, 68, died Friday, March 26, 2010.
Born in Greensboro, he was the son of the late Loyd and Thelma Satcher Teet. He grew up in Oconee County where he was a member of Antioch Christian Church until moving to Colbert where he became a member of Colbert United Methodist Church. He was retired from the Clarke County Board of Education as the warehouse supervisor. Mr. Lane had a lifelong love for old cars, restoring and showing them in car shows. His most favorite place to be was on the shores of Lake Hartwell where he sat on the deck and where he was most happy and at peace. An avid NASCAR fan, he loved fast cars and any kind of racing. His greatest joy in life was his grandson Mason, loved ones stated.
Survivors include his wife, Jerrie Teet, Colbert; daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and David Savage, Colbert; sisters and brothers, Laverne Hayes, Watkinsville, Zadie Smiddy, Augusta, Franklin D. Teet, Alabama, Anita Miller, Nicholson, Diane Eades, Winterville, Sue Robertson, Hampton; grandson, Mason Savage and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Sunday, March 28 at Lord & Stephens Danielsville Chapel with the Rev. Jim Haralson officiating. Honorary pallbearers were Tom Partain, Harold Gaulding, Danny Roach, Mike Dudley, Randy Walls, Wayne Craig Sr., Mike Fitzpatrick and Benjamin Fitzpatrick.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Colbert United Methodist Church Building Fund.
