A.J. Holtzclaw, 58, of Gainesville, died Sunday, July 13, 2008, at his residence, following a brief illness.
He was born in Bibb County on April 25, 1950, the son of Blondine Anglin Holtzclaw of Gainesville and the late Charles James Holtzclaw. He was retired from The Coca Cola Company and also from the Northeast Georgia Medical Center, where he worked as an electrician. He was a member of the Buford American Legion Post 127 and of Springway Baptist Church.
Survivors in addition to his mother, include his wife, Joan McDaniel Holtzclaw, Gainesville; son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Marsha Holtzclaw, Gillsville; stepdaughters and husbands, Mary and Daniel Barge, Debra and Jimmy Black, all of Gainesville; stepsons and wife, Bo and Tia Marsingill, Buford, Matthew Marsingill, Flowery Branch; grandchildren, Caleb, Jacob, Luke and Levi Holtzclaw; step-grandchildren, Timmy and Kelly Marsingill, Kasey Black, Daniel Rothove; brother and sister-in-law, Raymond and Jewell Holtzclaw, Gainesville; sisters and brother-in-law, Brenda and Tom Sutton and Judy Holtzclaw, all of Lula, and Lynn Allen, Gainesville.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 15, at Memorial Park Chapel with the Revs. James Campbell and Daniel Barge officiating. Burial was in Springway Baptist Church Cemetery.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, was in charge of arrangements.
