CANTON - James B. “J.B.” Weir, Jr., 88, formerly of Jefferson, died Saturday, March 20, 2010.
Born in Jefferson, he was the son of the late James B. Weir Sr. and Bessie O’Kelley Weir. He worked as an engineer for 27 years in the radio and television production industry with companies in Tulsa and Sacramento. He was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. Mr. Weir was preceded in death by a brother, Ollin Clyde Weir; and sister, Lottie Crowe.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Mary Weir, Atlanta; nephews, David L. Weir and his wife Debbie, Livermore, Calif., Joe Weir and his wife Nannette, McDonough; great-nephew and niece, Nolan and Julia; and many cousins, friends and dear family members living in the Jefferson community.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 24, from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home. Burial was in Jackson Memorial Park, Commerce.
