BRASELTON – Lenox Thompson “Tom” Thornton, 86, died Monday, March 22, 2010, at New Horizon’s West Nursing Home following an extended illness.
Born on May 11, 1924, in Atlanta, he was the son of the late Lenox and Eva Thompson Thornton. He was a retired teacher at Boys High School in Atlanta, was a member of Chestnut Mt. Presbyterian Church and a member of the Winder Kiwanis Club. He was a veteran having served in the United States Army during World War II.
Memorial services are to be held Thursday, March 25, at 2 p.m., at Chestnut Mt. Presbyterian Church with the Revs. John Batusic and Kennedy Smart officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Chestnut Mt. Presbyterian Church, 4675 Winder Hwy., Flowery Branch, GA 30542.
Memorial Park Funeral Home, Gainesville, is in charge of arrangements.
