Janet Hawks

WINTERVILLE – Janet Evelyn Hawks, 51, died Sunday, March 21, 2010, at her residence.

Born in Vandenburg AFB, Calif., she was the daughter of the late James D. and Helen B. Crowe. She had attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and worked as a hair stylist at Smart Styles of Athens.

Survivors include her husband, Greg Hawks; a son, Cory Hawks, Winterville; daughter and son-in-law, Catie and Anthony Adkins Jr., Martinez; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joan and Rodney Drake, Jackie and Tommy Barrett, Jennifer and Michael Roach, all of Danielsville, Julie and Bo Alewine, Comer; as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 23, at 2 p.m., at New Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Brooks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jody Craig, Brant Prickett, Rodney Drake, Tommy Barrett, Michael Roach and Bo Alewine. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, March 22, from 6 to 8 p.m.
