NICHOLSON – Ray Benjamin Gearing, 64, died Saturday, February 27, 2010, at his residence.
Born in Horry County, S.C., he was the son of the late F. and Annie Scarborough Gearing. He owned his own stump grinding business.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Duncan Gearing, Nicholson; stepson, James Davis, Lexington; stepdaughters, Tracy Mallory, Eastville, and Shelia Underwood, Decatur.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 2, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Dennis Kesler officiating. Burial will be at the Center United Methodist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, March 1, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
