JEFFERSON – Charles Eugene Jennings, 75, died Monday, February 22, 2010.
Born in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Earl and Robbie Turner Jennings. He was the owner of Jennings Machine Inc. and was a United States Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Thyatira Presbyterian Church, the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion and was past master of the Unity Masonic Lodge. Mr. Jennings was preceded in death by a brother, Albert “Skeet” Jennings.
Survivors include his wife, Bobbie Page Jennings, Jefferson; son and daughter-in-law, Charles Edward Jennings Sr. and Annette Jennings, Jefferson; grandson, Charles Edward Jennings Jr., Lawrenceville; daughter, Lynda Barnes (Mike), Marietta; granddaughter, Page Barnes Barron (Russell), Marietta; and a great-granddaughter, Eason Barron.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 24, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Dugar Strickland officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Park in Commerce. Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Jennings, Bo London, Scott Adams, Russell Barron, Tony Smith, Jimmy Harrison, Eugen Eckstein and Doyle Strickland. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, February 23, from 5 to 7 p.m.
