DANIELSVILLE – Minthy Saxon Schober, 60, died Friday, February 12, 2010, following an extended illness.
She was the daughter of the late Jamie Ray and Leadus Saxon. She was a loving mother and local artist who was well known for her paintings and murals around the area, including the depiction of Mother Goose on the walls of the former Ila Kindergarten. She was also an award-winning graphic artist at the Athens Daily News during the late 1970s and a floral designer at the end of her career.
Survivors include daughters, Candace Ferguson and Mandy Vaughn; a sister, Miriam Barrett; and brothers, David and Dan Saxon.
The family will be receiving visitors at the Dandelion Inn Meeting Room in Commerce on Sunday, February 28, from 2 until 5 p.m.

Cremation Society of Georgia, Atlanta, is in charge of arrangements.
