ROYSTON – Howard Sherman Dove, 74, died Thursday, February 18, 2010, at the Lake Crossing Health Center in Appling.
Born in Hart County on July 23, 1935, he was the son of the late Sherman and Lucy Dove Dove. He was a retired farmer and a member of the David’s Home Pentecostal Holiness Church. Mr. Dove was preceded in death by his wife, Lena Ruth Drake Dove; brothers, Fletcher, Ed and Stewart Dove; and sisters, Bernice Smith and Elton Willis.
Survivors include daughters, Gail Dove Jarrell, Evans, and Theresa Dove McDaris, Danielsville; sisters, Virginia Phillips and Joyce Dove, both of Royston, and Betty Ruth Weaver, Athens; a grandchild, Jillian Carter; two step grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 22, at 2 p.m., at David’s Home Pentecostal Holiness Church with the Revs. Doug Conwell and Robert Garrett officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. Monday afternoon. The family is at the home of Theresa McDaris in Danielsville.
