COMER – William Mell Lord, 78, died Thursday, February 18, 2010, at the Cobb Health Center in Comer.
Born in Madison County on June 30, 1931, he was the son of the late Beatrice Lord. He was a cord winder having retired from Westinghouse and was of the Baptist denomination. He was a United States Air Force Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include a son, Danny Lord, Comer; daughters, Debra Burgess, Cartersville, and Amanda Frost, Soap Lake, Wash.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be held Monday, February 22, at 11 a.m., at the Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Larry Green officiating.
The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Sunday, February 21, from 7 to 9 p.m. The family is at their respective homes.
Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, is in charge of arrangements.
