SWAINSBORO – Randy Fagler, 59, died Thursday, February 11, 2010, following an extended illness.
A native of Emanuel County, he was the son of the late Garnell and Brunell Green Fagler. He was retired from United Parcel Services after 32 years of service. He was a coach of Emanuel County Project S.A.F.E. team, a job steward for Teamsters Local 728, and a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church. Mr. Fagler was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ann Howard.
Survivors include his wife, Miriam Womack Fagler, Swainsboro; daughter and son-in-law, Brooke and Bryant Lewis, Swainsboro; sisters, Dorothy Autry, Atlanta, Shirley McNeely, Swainsboro, Jean Roberts, Commerce, and Rita Battle, Wadley; and one grandchild, Colten Lewis, Swainsboro.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 14, from the Hawhammock Baptist Church with the Revs. Bunny Hudson and Nick Hazelton officiating. Burial was in the Forest Lawn Cemetery in Dellwood with the Rev. Cail Pressey officiating. Pallbearers were Thomas Henry, Steve Johnson, Jamey Oglesby, John Beasley, Wayne Scarboro, Raymond Riner and Jimbo Hutcheson. Honorary pallbearers were UPS drivers and retirees, Project S.A.F.E. coaches and shooters, the 4-H Extension Service, Eric Hammock, Lonnie Smith, David Gambrell, Henry Gambrell, Blaine Welborn, Kerney Lamb and Wayne Folds.
