JEFFERSON – William K. Knapp, 59, died Sunday, February 7, 2010.
Born in Monticello, N.Y., he was the son of the late Arthur Theodore Knapp Jr. and Ruth Kinne Knapp of Mongaup Valley, N.Y. He was a retired carpenter with Charles Black Construction, retiring after 35 years, and was a retired veteran of the United States Army. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Sons of Thunder Motorcycle Ministry. Bill had a strong faith in the Lord and enjoyed reaching out and ministering to others, loved ones stated.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Taylor Knapp, Jefferson; brothers and sisters, Cathy Carnesi, Ruth Saloman, Alice Witherel, Arthur Knapp and Kenneth Knapp, all of New York; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 11, at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Roland Henderson officiating. Burial will be held at a later date in Bethel, N.Y. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, February 11, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
