MITCHELL – Annie M. Hattaway, 84, died Thursday, February 4, 2010, following a long illness.
Having lived in the Athens area for a long time, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 46 years, Herbert William Hattaway Jr.; and her beautiful forever 16-year-old granddaughter, Shannon “Baby Girl” Rhodes.
Survivors include her daughter, Susan (Russell) Rhodes; grandsons, Reid William (Stephanie) Rhodes and Charles Graham (Tiffany) Reese; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Rainy and one due in August 2010, all of Mitchell.
Graveside services were held Saturday, February 6, 2010, at Westover Memorial Park in Augusta with the Rev. Mary Griswell officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Shannon Rhodes Class of 2010 Scholarship Fund, c/o Glascock County Consolidated School, 1230 Panther Way, Gibson, GA 30810.
Sheppard Funeral Home, Gibson, was in charge of arrangements.
