ATHENS – Cordelia Watson Akins, 94, died Monday, February 8, 2010, at Athens Heritage Home.
Born in Banks County she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Ollie Smith Watson. She was a member of Ridgeway Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Akins was preceded in death by her husband, William T. Akins Sr.; and sons, Harold and Charles Mack Akins.
Survivors include sons, Robert L. Akins and Lloyd T. Akins Sr., both of Jefferson; sisters, Florence Duncan, Homer, Elise Sailors, Athens, and Gearldean Lacy, Commerce; 10 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 10, at 3 p.m., from the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Manus and Mrs. Louise Gordon officiating. Burial will be in Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, February 9, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
