ATHENS – Evelyn Woods, 84, died Friday, February 5, 2010, following an extended battle with cancer.
Born in Oconee County she was the daughter of the late William “Bill” and Zedie Iler O’Dillon. She was of the Baptist denomination and was preceded in death by a daughter, Elaine Woods; brothers, the Revs. Pete O’Dillon and Henry O’Dillon; and a sister, Daisy Gunter.
Survivors include a son, Thomas Woods, Athens; sister, Tiny Pugh, Nicholson; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 8, in the chapel of Bernstein Funeral Home with the Rev. Douglas Hammond and her nephew, William Pugh, officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Bernstein Funeral Home, Athens, was in charge of arrangements.
