Vallie Mae Fitzpatrick

ATHENS – Vallie Mae Fitzpatrick, 93, died Sunday, February 7, 2010, at St. Mary’s Hospice House.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Russell Jewell and Mary Lee Gailey Anglin. She was a member of the Center United Methodist Church and was retired from New Way Cleaners. Mrs. Fitzpatrick was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Newton Fitzpatrick.

Survivors include a daughter, Virginia Carithers, Athens; sister, Alelia Baird, Jefferson; three grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 10, at 2 p.m., at the Center United Methodist Church with the Revs. Richard Cathey and Walter Coley officiating. Burial will be in the Howington Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, February 9, from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Center United Methodist Church, 496 Old Commerce Rd. Ext., Athens, GA 30607.
