ILA – Evie Lee “Winnie” Fields, 62, died Friday, February 5, 2010, at her residence.
Born on July 12, 1947, she was the daughter of Helen V. Simmons of Madison County and the late Willard B. Simmons. She was a homemaker who lived to take care of others and loved by all who knew her, loved ones states.
She was the birth mother of three, Waymon B. Fields (Rebecca), Lexington, the late Wendy C. Fields and the late Timothy D. Fields; the mother in life to three more, nephew, James P. Farr (Diana), raised as her own, granddaughter, Ashley Wingate, Atlanta, and great-granddaughter, Dadrianna Bennett, who affectionately called her “Nanna;” another granddaughter, Kimberly Holland, Lexington; sister, Patsy Woodall; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 9, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Bridges Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Ila Cemetery in Ila. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, February 8 from 6 to 8 p.m. After the committal service, the family will receive friends at 264 Westbrook St., Ila.
Bridges Funeral Home, Athens, is in charge of arrangements.
