Kathy Stancil, 49, of Alto, died Wednesday, July 9, 2008, at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, following an extended illness.
She was born in Habersham County on June 16, 1959, the daughter of Clara Dyer Seabolt of Cleveland and the late Doyle Seabolt. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Stancil was preceded in death by sisters, Lois Partin, Sue Pruitt and Sharon Seabolt. She was fond of animals and raised birds, loved ones stated.
Survivors in addition to her mother, include her husband, Dewayne Stancil, Alto; daughter and son-in-law, Shauna and Isaiah Walter, Colorado Springs, Colo.; son, Ryan Shuler, Alto; brothers, Johnny, Jimmy and Kenneth Seabolt, all of Cleveland, Jack Seabolt, Jefferson, and Steve Seabolt, Clarkesville; and a sister, Carolyn Hulsey, Cleveland.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 12, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of McGahee-Griffin Stewart Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren Butch Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, July 11, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
