CANON – Floy Winona Gable McCollum, 85, died Tuesday, February 2, 2010.
Born in Franklin County on June 8, 1924, she was the daughter of the late George and Eva Brewer Gable. She was a seamstress in the textile industry and was a member of the Double Branches Baptist Church. Mrs. McCollum was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Alvin McCollum.
Survivors include daughters, Marie Fuller, Martin, Pat Massey, Canon, Shirley Mochet, Bowersville, Brenda Duncan, Royston; a son, Larry McCollum, Elberton; a sister, Imogene Jackson, Canon; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Double Branches Baptist Church, Friday, February 5, at 4 p.m., with the Rev. David Wilson and Mr. Danny Fuller officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakview Cemetery in Canon. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Thursday, from 7-9 p.m. The family is at the home of Brenda and Tommy Duncan, 417 Pulliam Lane, Royston, GA 30662.
