HULL - Julia Carolyn Smith, 77 died Saturday, January 30, 2010.
Born on February 29, 1932, she was the daughter of Zed and Mamie Hardman. For many years she assisted her husband as a bookkeeper at his service station and was a charter member of Joy Baptist Church, serving faithfully. In the early years of Camp Maranatha she impacted the lives of many youth and loved her church and family, loved ones stated. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, George Beasley Smith; daughter-in-law, Dianne Dills Smith; and brother, J.W. Hardman.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, G. Michael and Sally Bolemon Smith, Danielsville, and Charles L. and Felicia Smith, Ila; grandchildren, Staci and Todd Voyles, Paige and Jeremy Wilson, Melissa Smith and Christopher Smith; great-grandchildren, Tripp Voyles and Carter Wilson; step-granchildren, Brad and Angie Bolemon, Britt and Brittany Bolemon, Blake and Cassie Bolemon and Blaise Bolemon; step-great-grandchildren Callie and Caty Beth Bolemon, Tyler and Carson Bolemon; sisters and brothers-in-law, Hildred and James Benton, Hull, and Mary Ann and Byron Ramsey, Hull; brothers and sister-in-law, Leo Hardman, Lexington, N.C., and Doyle and Jean Hardman, Ocala, Fla.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 1, at 2 p.m. at Joy Baptist Church with Pastor Shannon Hayes officiatng. Mrs. Smith will lie in state an hour before the service. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers include the Hannah Sunday School Class and charter members of Joy Baptist Church.
