ATHENS – Hilda Elder Bone, 89, formerly of Jefferson, died Friday, January 29, 2010.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Elmer H. and Ruth Webb Elder. She was a retired seamstress with Wilkins Industries and was a member of Galilee Christian Church. Mrs. Bone was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Bone; a son, Harold Franklin Bone; and a half sister, Blanche Elder.
Survivors include a daughter, Mildred Elrod, Winder; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; half sister, Charlotte Bonmener, Winder; half brother, Tommy F. Elder, Auburn; several nieces, nephews, cousins; and one sister-in-law.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 1, at 2 p.m., from the Galilee Christian Church with Minister Tom Plank officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Grandsons and great-grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.
