ROYSTON – Betty Jo Crook Stephens, 73, died Saturday, January 30, 2010, at the Spring Valley Health Center in Elberton.
Born in Oglethorpe County on July 26, 1936, she was the daughter of the late J.C. and Lillie Mac Evans Crook. She was a homemaker and member of the Price Chapel Church of God.
Survivors include sons, Danny Stephens, Randy Stephens and Larry Stephens, all of Royston, Jimmy Stephens, Athens; daughters, Rita Martin, Comer, Kay Johnson, Bowman, and Diane Moon, Lavonia; brothers, Roy Crook, Greenville, S.C., and Billy Crook, Royston; sister, Kathleen Fowler, Hartwell; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 2, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Johnny Stowe officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Royston. The body is at the funeral home where the family will receive friends Monday, February 1, from 7 to 9 p.m. The family is at home.
