LaVerne Rooks

WINDER – LaVerne Rooks, 76, died Thursday, January 21, 2010.

A native of Oconee County, she was the daughter of the late Melvin and Ruth Gasaway Glass. She was a member of the Winder First Christian Church and was the owner of Family Hair Care of Winder.
Survivors include her husband, Styles Rooks; sons, Dwayne Rooks and Skyler Rooks, both of Winder; sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice and Harold Tribble, Loganville, Opal and Ben Hardgrove, Winder; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 30, at 2 p.m., from the Winder First Christian Church with the Rev. Jim Brooks officiating. The family will receive friends in the First Christian Church Fellowship Hall following the service.
