Thomas Lackey

DANIELSVILLE – Thomas J. Lackey, 85, died Wednesday, January 20, 2010, at the Brown Memorial Convalescent Center in Royston.

Born in Ila, he was the son of the late Lee and Naomi Cleghorn Lackey. Mr. Lackey was preceded in death by his wife, Doris C. Lackey who died in January of 2009; a brother, Henry Lackey; and a sister, Betty Gray.

Survivors include sons, Tommy (Deborah) Lackey, Hull, and Randy (Jayne) Lackey, Ila; grandchildren, Shana Hoopaugh, Lee Lackey, Chanda Cowart, and Kyle Lackey; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Gene Lackey, Hull, Barbara (Kenneth) Jordan, Ila, Bonnie Campbell, Orlando, Fla., and Ruth Lackey, Charlotte, N.C.

Funeral and committal services will be conducted Friday, January 22, at 2 p.m., from the Community Baptist Church with Kent Barrett and the Rev. Phil Parks officiating. Burial will be in the Lackey Chandler Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, January 21, from 6 to 9 p.m. Mr. Lackey will lie in state at the church on Friday from 1:30 until the time of service.
