Virgil Morrow Jr., 76, of Comer, died Saturday, July 5, 2008.
A native of Greensboro, N.C., he was the son of the late Essie Whitehead and Virgil Morrow Sr. He was owner and operator of Morrow’s Florist in Comer for over 35 years and served on the City Council for many years. He was a member of Comer Baptist Church. Mr. Morrow was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict.
Survivors include a sister, Joanne Jackson, Middleton, Md.; nieces, Elizabeth Granzow, Middletown, Md., Rhonda Jackson, Kearneysville, W. Va., and Carol Johnston, Comer; nine great-nieces and great-nephews, Jeffery, Alan, Jon, Meghan, Lauren, Liam, MacKenzie, Ron and Emily; and one great-great niece, Madison.
Funeral services were held Monday, July 7, in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home. Burial was in Comer Cemetery.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, was in charge of arrangements.
