DANIELSVILLE – John “Kcrazy” Mell Simmons Jr., 55, died Saturday, January 16, 2010.
A native of Gastonia, N.C., he was the son of Polly Ruth Patterson and John Mell Simmons Sr. of Colbert. He was employed with McLeroy Plumbing for many years.
Survivors in addition to his parents include a son, John Mell “Trey” Simmons III, Kennewick, Wash.; companion, Suzy Russell, Danielsville; sisters, Gwen Marlow, Maysville, and Tina Simmons, Colbert; brothers, Mike Simmons, Colbert, and Grant Simmons, Danielsville; nephew, Andrew Marlow, Fort Campbell, Ky.; and niece, Jackson Nunn, Colbert.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, January 19, at 7 p.m., in the chapel of Lord & Stephens Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until service time and also following the service.
Memorials may be made to the Madison-Oglethorpe Animal Shelter.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
