Mack Smith

AUBURN - Mack Smith, 87, died Monday, January 11, 2010.

He was the son of the late W.V. and Ida Mae Collins Smith. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by wives, Mary Frances Smith and Maggie Collins Smith. He served as a platoon sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. He was a retired sales representative with B & B Beverage Company of Athens.

Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Rubbi Casper, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; grandchildren, Deborah, Reade and Stephen; great-grandchild, Tyler; nieces, Candice and Susan; brothers-in-law, Larry McDaniel, Auburn and Joe McDaniel, Winder; sisters-in-law, Brenda Luke, Bogart, and Mary Lou Reddick, Winder.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 13, at 11 a.m., from the chapel of Carter Funeral Home, with Mike Blount officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park, Athens.

Carter Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
