WINDER – Runette Bond Edge, 89, died Friday, January 8, 2010.
Born in Braselton on October 11, 1920, and she began a long career in 1943 at J.C. Pool Department Store in Winder, where she was the manager and buyer for ladies and children’s wear. After retirement, she worked several more years at the Pool’s Lawrenceville store until 1992. Mrs. Edge was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Lee Edge; an infant daughter, Ann Edge; and sisters, Levie Holman, Effie Barnette, Gertrude Bond and Mary Bond, all of Braselton.
Survivors include nephews, Billy Barnette, Demorest, and Ted Barnette, Auburn; great-nephews, Tommy Barnette, Flowery Branch, and Tim Barnette, Gainesville; many close nieces and nephews of the Edge and Cronic families; and special long timefriends, Ramona Roberts, Lucille Segars, Brenda Wilborn and David Tuck.
Funeral services were held Sunday, January 10, at Smith Memory Chapel with Lester Hall officiating. Burial was at Barrow Memorial Gardens.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
