Betty Ann Poole

COMMERCE – Betty Ann Barnett Poole, 77, died Monday, January 4, 2010, at BJC Medical Center.

Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Ouida Wilson Barnett of Nicholson and the late Otis Barnett. She was a member of Berea Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Marvin Poole, Commerce; daughters, Rhonda Kay Perry and Phyllis Sparks, both of Commerce and Debra Owensby, Danielsville; sons, Mike Poole, Commerce, and David Moon, Ila; sisters, Walla Mae Butler, Danielsville, Agnes Peterman, Nicholson, and Gail Edwards, Hull; brothers, Mickey Barnett, Athens, Todd Barnett and Bobby Barnett, both of Nicholson, and Jimmy Lee Barnett, Rome, N.Y.; 12 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 7, at 11 a.m., at Berea Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry James and Billy Owensby officiating. Burial will be in Nicholson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, January 6, from 6 to 8 p.m.
