ATLANTA – Ollin Clyde Weir, 86, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009.
Born on August 18, 1923, in Jefferson, he was the son of the late James Benjamin and Bessie Mae O’Kelly Weir. He was a retired postal carrier and a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II in Korea. He was a member of the Rex Masonic Lodge #251, F&AM. Mr. Weir was preceded in death by a sister, Lottie Crowe.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Ada Hyde Weir, Atlanta; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Debbie Weir, Livermore, Calif., Joe and Nannette Weir, McDonough; brother, James B. Weir, Canton; grandchildren, Nolan and Julia; and several cousins, nephews and nieces.
Funeral services were held Thursday, December 31, in the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. James Hicks officiating. Burial was in the Jackson Memorial Park in Commerce.
