Claudia Moon

BETHLEHEM - Claudia Davis Moon, 61, died Wednesday, December 23, 2009.

Born in Walton County, she was the daughter of the late Chester L. and Jewell C. Peppers Davis. She was a member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church and the Hope Class. She was also a member of the Lioness Club. Mrs. Moon retired from the Barrow County School System where she had worked as a cashier in the lunchroom at Winder-Barrow High School. She was a 1968 graduate of Monroe High School.

Survivors include her husband, Melvin G. Moon; son Melvin J. Moon; grandchildren, Kyra McKinney and Kayle Moon, all of Bethlehem; brothers, Lenard Davis, Bobby Davis and Scott Davis, all of Bethlehem, and Lester Davis, Monroe; sisters, Irene Chriswell and Lynn Davis, both of Loganville; Janice Pierce, Winder, Kathy Criswell, Bethlehem, and Vena Sorrells, Monroe.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 27, from Hickory Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Ralph Baker, Chris Yancey and Frankie Green officiating. Burial was in Bold Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

Smith Funeral Home, Winder, was in charge of arrangements.
