COMMERCE – Ronald Lee “Ronnie” Seabolt, 66, died Saturday, December 12, 2009.
He was a member of the Commerce Church of Christ. He had retired from Jackson County as a Correctional Officer, served for many years on the Commerce Planning Commission, and was a former member of the Commerce Board of Education. He received the Volunteer of the Year award from the Commerce City School System, where he had donated many hours of his time including driving school buses. Until declining health prevented him from working, he was a cherished member of the staff at Ivie Funeral Home. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather, loved ones stated.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Seabolt, Commerce; son and daughter-in-law, Philip and Kim Seabolt, Commerce; daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Bobby Caudell, Commerce; brothers, Jerry Seabolt, Commerce, Joe Seabolt, Mableton, and Ray Seabolt, Monroe; a sister, Ann Hatfield, Douglasville; grandchildren, Zeke, Madison, Alec, Sidnei and Kade-Andrew; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 15, at 2 p.m., from the chapel of Ivie Funeral Home with burial at the Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday, December 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.
