JEFFERSON – Gary “Jeff” Shepherd, 56, died Thursday, December 10, 2009.
Born in Fort Bragg, N.C., he was the son of Helen Barnette and stepfather Clayton Barnette of Conyers. He worked in construction as a carpenter.
Survivors in addition to his mother and stepfather include his companion of 14 years, Vicki Knight, Jefferson; daughter and son-in-law, Kristy and Ken Bunn, Monroe; grandchildren, Nikki and Charlsey Bunn, Monroe; sisters, Margaret Shepherd; brothers, the Rev. Phillip Shepherd, Glenn Barnette and William Shepherd.
Funeral services will be held Monday, December 14, at 1 p.m., from the chapel of Evans Funeral Home with the Rev. Phillip Shepherd officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, December 14, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Evans Funeral Home, 1350 Winder Hwy., Jefferson, GA, 706-367-5467.
Evans Funeral Home, Jefferson, is in charge of arrangements.

He was a good man 21 years ago in a 5 year olds eyes! He is at peace now!
