WINDER – James “Red” Magness, 81, died Monday, December 7, 2009.
Born in Barrow County, he was a son of the late Jarrell H. and Corine McElhannon Magness. He was a member of Hebron Christian Church, was retired from Thrall Car after working many years for Rohr Aircraft, and was a veteran having served in the United States Army in Korea. He was an avid gardener, loved ones stated. Mr. Magness was preceded in death by a brother, Byron Magness.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Sims Magness, Winder; a daughter, Wanda Magness, Winder; and sisters and brother-in-law, Jackie Hinesley, Sybil and Bill Kemp, all Winder.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 9, at 2 p.m., in Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Gordon Griffin officiating. Burial will be in Hebron Christian Church Cemetery.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
