COLBERT – Lou Nell Morris, 83, died Friday, November 27, 2009, at the Alzheimer’s Care in Commerce.
A native of Madison County, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Onie Wade Childers, She was a member of the Colbert First Baptist Church. Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by her husband of almost 51 years, Ramie T. Morris; and a brother, Curtis Childers.
Survivors include children and spouses, Audra and John Fowler, Murphy, N.C., Gerald and Barbara Morris, Bethlehem, Thomas and Karin Morris and Johnny Morris, all of Colbert; sister, Naomi Watson, Greenville, S.C.; brother, Herman Childers, Colbert; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 29, at 2 p.m., at Lord & Stephens Madison Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Fuller officiating. Burial will be in Colbert City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Todd and Brad Morris, Cody and Colton Phillips, Dodd and Dodson and Lamar Adams. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff of the Alzheimer’s Care of Commerce. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, November 28, from 6 to 8 p.m.
