ELBERTON – Elaine Bray Rucker, 62, died Wednesday, November 25, 2009.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of Louise Owensby Wofford and the late William “Bill” Bray. She was a member of Elberton Penecostal Holiness Church, was a homemaker, and a past Lady Auxiliary for Elbert Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Rucker was preceded in death by a sister, Jane Watson.
Survivors in addition to her mother include her husband, Billy Walker Rucker, Elberton; daughters, Melissa Hall, Suzanne Libby, and a stepdaughter, Patricia Drake, all of Elberton; sisters, Trell Wilson and LouAnn David, both of Commerce; brothers, Jimmy Bray and Clay Wofford, both of Commerce, and Curtis Wofford, Tiger; grandchildren, Luke Hall and Madelyn Libby; and a step-grandchild, Jared Beckham.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 28, at 2 p.m., at the memorial chapel of Berry Funeral Home with the Rev. Jimmy Bryan officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park. The family will be at the home of 1570 Cromer Rd. and will receive friends from 12 to 2 p.m., just prior to the service at Berry Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Richard Rucker, Steve Brooks, DeWitt David, Steve Wilson, Roger Guest and Barry Brown.
Flowers are optional and memorials may be made in her honor to Elberton Penecostal Holiness Church Building Fund.
Berry Funeral Home, Elberton, is in charge of arrangements.
