Louise Travis

WINDER - Louise Green Travis, 76, died Wednesday, November 18, 2009.

Born in Barrow County, she was the daughter of the late John E. and Gertrude Mooney Green. She had been the lead teacher earlier in her life for Walton-Morgan County training center, a center for the mentally challenged. She was of the Christian faith.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Trudi and Curtis Dalton, Winder, and Tina and Greg Kiker, Arley, Ala.; two grandchildren, David Dalton and Jason Travis; brother, Bob Green, Atlanta; and sister, Dorothy Kilgore, Chula Vista, Calif.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 21, at 9 a.m., from the Chapel of Smith Funeral Home with the Rev. Terry Tippens officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, November 20, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1684 Barnett Shoals Road, Athens, Georgia 30605.

Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.
