COMMERCE – James Richard Massey Sr., 75, died Saturday, October 31, 2009, at his residence following an extended illness.
Born on June 3, 1934, he was the son of the late Weldon and Chloe Pinion Massey. He was retired from the BJC Medical Center as director of radiology, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Commerce. He served on the Commerce City Council for 19 years, was a veteran of the United States Army, member of the Tumblin' Waters Society, and served on the Jackson County Board of Health.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte Ray Massey, Commerce; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Terri Massey, Commerce; and granddaughters, Lindsey and Sydney Massey, both of Commerce.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 2, at 11 a.m., from the First United Methodist Church of Commerce with David Bowen and Carlton Allen officiating. Burial will be at Grey Hill Cemetery.
