DANIELSVILLE - Sherry Danelle Kitchens, 28, died Friday, October 30, 2009, following a long and courageous battle.
Sherry enriched the lives of all who had the opportunity to know her and to know her was to love her.
To those who know and love the Broad River, Sherry was a constant fixture, paddling along in her little kayak brightening the day for all she encountered.
Sherry is survived by her mother Kay, also of Danielsville, and her dad, Rick, and sister, Ashley, both of Colbert.
She is also survived by many, many friends and loved ones too numerous to list.
Words cannot express the gratitude we feel for the outpouring of love and support during this ordeal, but we feel that special thanks should go out to the staff at Rafferty's and especially to the nurses and personnel of the ICU at Athens Regional Medical Center. Guys, your performance was far beyond the call of duty and we will never forget what you have done for Sherry and the family. Also, to the ladies of Dogwood Deli, your kindness and consideration will be remembered always.
A celebration of Sherry's life will be held at a later date, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Madison/Oglethorpe County Animal Shelter.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, East, is in charge of arrangements.

I want to send condolences out to the kitchens family. We shared the ICU waiting room for two weeks and had hoped for a better outcome for this sweet family. May Sherry be at peace and comfort with her maker, and an angel to watch over us.
