MT. AIRY – Ralph Thomas Catlett, 93, died Tuesday, October 27, 2009, at Habersham County Medical Center following an extended illness.
Born in Jackson County on June 24, 1916, he was the son of the late Thomas Gibson and Josephine Belle Crisler Catlett. He was a carpenter and was a United States Navy veteran. He was of the Methodist denomination and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Mr. Catlett was preceded in death by former wife, Mary Frances Paul Catlett; son, Thomas Clinton Catlett; brothers, Sydney Catlett and Raymond Hollis Catlett; and sisters, Frances Sizemore and Lorena Catlett.
Survivors include a daughter, Carole Catlett, Mt. Airy; daughter-in-law, Andrea Catlett, Demorest; sister, Elizabeth Smith, Cordele; grandchildren, Mary Frances Loftin, Moncks Corner, S.C., and Thomas Hayne Zeigler Sr., Mt. Pleasant, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Thomas Hayne Zeigler Jr. and Christopher Legare Zeigler.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 31, from 6 to 8 p.m. at McGahee-Griffin & Stewart Funeral Home.
