Robert Lee Chambers, 86, of Lula, died Saturday, July 5, 2008, at his residence, following an extended illness.
He was the son of the late William Lemuel and Mary Free Chambers and was a United States Army World War II veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Winnona Adamson Chambers, Lula; a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Cathy Chambers, Traverse City, Mich.; daughter, Edwina Schweipzer, Melbourne, Fla.; sister, Nell Allen, Canton; granddaughters, Kristen and Cheyanne Schweipzer, two step-granddaughters, Regan and Canada.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 12, at 2 p.m., from the American Legion Albert Gordon Post #56 with Richard Thompson officiating.
Ivie Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
