HULL – Felton Asa “Pete” Rice, 84, died Sunday, October 25, 2009, at his residence.
Born in Colbert, he was the son of the late Asa Lee and Maude Hart “Momma” Rice. He was retired from the US Postal Service as a rural route mail carrier and was a member of Hull Baptist Church. He was a veteran having served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Gunner’s Mate Third Class.
Survivors in addition to his wife of 61 years, Martha Fay Hale Rice, include a son and daughter-in-law, Harry F. and Jo W. Rice, Danielsville; and a number of in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 28, at 11 a.m., at Hull Baptist Church with the Rev. Randy Crowe officiating. Burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday, October 27, from 4 to 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hull Volunteer Fire Department, your local volunteer fire department, or the Madison County Food Bank.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
