MONROE – Roy J. Wilson, 89, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009.
Born in Marion County, Ind., he was the son of the late Leo Harold and Alvina L. Stegemiller Wilson. He was a member of the Winder Wesleyan Church, member of the Rolls Royce Owners Club, Antique Car Club of America, and the Packard Antique Car Club. He served as Master Sgt. in the United States Army during World War II and in the European Theater.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Wilson, Monroe; son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence and Patricia Wilson, Dacula; daughter, Vicki Wilson, Denver, Colo.; grandchildren, Kristopher Wilson and Kimberly Wilson, both of Dacula; great-grandchildren, Margaret Jane Wilson and Charlotte Mae Wilson; and a sister, Ruth Gillespie, Winder.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 24, at 2 p.m., at Smith Memory Chapel with the Rev. Greg Moore officiating. Entombment will be at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday, October 23, from 6 to 8 p.m.
