SOCIAL CIRCLE – Cathryn Baird, 89, formerly of Nicholson, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at Abbey Hospice House.
Born in Jackson County, she was the daughter of the late Warren Claude and Leona McConnell Hawks. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Harmony Baptist Church. Mrs. Baird was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Baird.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Hurt, Social Circle; stepchildren, Laverne Baird, Yvonne Baird, Pat DeRobertis, and Bud Thomas; brother, Harold Hawks, Nicholson; sisters, Evelyn Haynes, Danielsville, Dorothy Erdman, Athens, and Mildred David, Nicholson; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 17, at 2 p.m., from New Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Allen Seagraves officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, October 16, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
