COMMERCE – James Harold Vickery, 83, died Tuesday, October 13, 2009, at Athens Regional Medical Center.
Born in Murray County, he was the son of the late James C. and Mary Gordon Vickery. He was a retired textile worker and was of the Baptist denomination.
Survivors include his wife, Hershelene Seagraves Vickery, Commerce; daughters, Carol McNabb, Cathy Standridge, both of Commerce, Rhonda Stephenson, Jefferson; a son, Scott Vickery, Colbert; brother, John Vickery, Colbert; sister, Morea Ayers, Forest Park; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, at 11 a.m., in the chapel of Little-Ward Funeral Home with the Revs. Henry Webb and James Lee officiating. Burial will be at Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, October 15, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Little-Ward Funeral Home, Commerce, is in charge of arrangements.
