WINDER – Michael W. Sturgeon, 51, died Monday, October 12, 2009.
Born in Dallas, Texas, he was the son of the late Irvin Sturgeon and mother and stepfather, Marian and Jerry Harvey. He was a member of Forest Hills Baptist Church. Mr. Sturgeon was preceded in death by siblings, Tommy Sturgeon and Lisa Marie Bridges.
Survivors include brothers and sister-in-law, Danny and Jean Sturgeon and Stevie Sturgeon, all of Winder, Terry Sturgeon and Gary Sturgeon, both of Lawrenceville, Scott Sturgeon, Utah; and sisters, Shelia and David Wood, Winder, Sherry Harvey and Mike Johnson, Auburn, and JoAnn Murdock, Utah.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 16, at 2 p.m., at Smith Memory Chapel with the Revs. Joe Brock and Johnnie Wright officiating. Burial will be in Barrow Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 15, at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
Smith Funeral Home, Winder, is in charge of arrangements.

Michael was a wonderful person even with his illness; he always was happy and cheerful he loved his family and never said anything bad about anyone even the people whom did not treat him well...I love you Michael and will miss you ..
